COMMUNITY CORNER:
In January 2023, School Council introduced "Community Corner" (which can be found in the January 18, 2023 Meeting Minutes). The funds donated by parents (which are not eligible for a donation tax receipt) to Community Corner are accepted with immense gratitude and heartfelt appreciation by our school community, and are used to help offer support to those in need.
Definition:
Community Corner financially supports the children and families of OLPH when the need arises. Community Corner supports the following but is not limited to: ensuring that all children in OLPH can have a safe place at OLPH school, providing financial relief during holiday seasons or when a family crisis may arise (financial relief would be in the form of gift cards or purchase of necessary items depending on the situation of the family in need, for example: food baskets). School Council Executives will work in conjunction with our Family Wellness Worker and OLPH Administration to ensure the funds are properly distributed where needed. Funds are only distributed when the amount and requirement of said funds are discussed and agreed upon with the School Council Executives, Fundraising Association members, the Family Wellness Worker, and OLPH Administration.
